In my last blog I spoke of the five missionaries leaving on their missions. Elder Oliveira - the second one from the right - was one of the first people we met here and has become a dear friend. We will be writing him on his mission. He is going to Mozambique where Elder K. Richter - who we have known since he was a preschooler - is serving. I sent a note to Elder Richter via his mother to make sure he takes good care of him.
Then just a few days later we meet an Elder Bula who had just arrived from Mozambique to serve his mission here. We asked if he knew Elder Richter. He does! He was so excited that we knew him. And now he has been assigned to serve in Assomada in the same ward that Robert has been assigned to as a High Councilor. We saw him today and he has already written Elder Ricther telling him that we will be working together! Small world.
I should also tell you the fellow second from the left is the young man we work with in the mission office. Holden is responsible for getting visas and transportation for the missionaries leaving. He is getting married in September and is getting more forgetful as the days go by. This week has been a bit of a comedy of errors but he always seems to land on his feet. Hopefully after September he will be more focused. Until then we just love him.
